Lake Michigan fishing season begins in April and ends through October. It offers Coho Salmon, Chinook ( king ) Salmon, Rainbow ( Steelhead ) Trout, Brown trout, and Lake Trout.

April and May -  is excellent Coho salmon and Brown Trout fishing with good chances of catching some King salmon in the 10 to 15 lb. Class. This is the time for the fastest action.
April / May is the the very best PERCH fishing as that's when they spawn.
The weather can be cool or warm.
June - offers a good variety of Salmon and Trout to catch.
The weather is warm and comfortable.
July and August - has excellent Chinook ( King ) Salmon fishing. It also offers Coho, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout , and lake Trout and usually of the larger fish. The weather is great.
September and October - offers all the varieties of Lake Michigan fish, large and small. This is the best time for Lake Trout fishing. That's spawning time. They can range in weight to over 30 lbs.. The weather can be warm, cool, or cold. This is your last chance to get in some of Lake Michigan fishing before our long cold, snowy winter sets in.
