LAKE MICHIGAN, WAUKEGAN Lake Michigan fishing in Waukegan, Illinois is the hot spot of Lake Michigan's western shore and it's just about in your own backyard with excellent salmon and trout fishing in the palm of your hand. Waukegan has been named the salmon capital. April, May and June bring many limit catches of Coho Salmon. July, August, and September, 2005, was excellent fishing for Chinook (KING) Salmon. Very strong fighters. August of 2005 brought in some excellent catches of Rainbow ( STEELHEAD ) Trout. September and October is the time to catch Lake Trout and of the larger size. The Bonshell Charter boat is equipped with all the electronics and fishing gear needed to catch Lake Michigan's Salmon and Trout. The best time to come is when ever you can make it.
